Matthew 5:6 "Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be filled."
This is a familiar passage from what is known as the Beatitudes. "Blessed", meaning to be happy; supremely blessed condition in which congratulations are in order...also meaning to be envied; the word "righteousness", meaning right living or living according to God's standards. And it is an established fact that we'll be happy if we hunger and thirst after righteousness.
But what about "hunger and thirst"? Where did we get the idea that we can be spiritually fed after hungering and thirsting, and it can be a lasting, or permanent, condition? It is a biological fact that every living thing hungers and thirsts. Children come home from school hungry and thirsty. In fact, they come home from the hospital, as infants, hungry and thirsty. It's because they are healthy! Another fact is that, if you feed them, they'll get hungry again!
Shouldn't it be the same spiritually? If we are healthy spiritually, we should be hungering and thirsting after righteousness. Upon being fed, (attending church services, hearing a good sermon, reading the Word, etc.) we should get hungry and thirsty again and again. Be blessed!

Thoughts For The Day
Galatians 2:20 “The life which I now live in the flesh, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.” I can’t seem to get away from the thought expressed in this verse. The life that I now live is the life that Jesus came to give to me. It is different from the life that I lived before. The life (the way I live now) is different. The way I think is different. The way I talk is different. (i.e. …I talk faith, I talk victory, I talk blessing, I talk positive, I talk joy, I talk healing, etc.) The life which I NOW live is different than the life I did live.
